About

I was born into a local farming family and grew up between Looe and Polperro. I went to school in Penzance and then left Cornwall to train as a teacher in Wales, where I first became interested, and active, in Labour politics.
After working in London for two years, my husband and I moved home to Cornwall where our three children were born.
I was a teacher in Looe for more than thirty years, before retiring in 2012 and retraining as a counsellor.
I joined the Labour Party straight after the 2015 election, gradually becoming more actively involved in my local group, and I am now Chair of the Lostwithiel Branch.  In this capacity, I am also a member of the CLP Executive.
It has been a privilege, and a great pleasure, to work alongside such a dedicated, friendly team and to feel that I have made a contribution to Labour’s rising popularity and increased vote share in South East Cornwall.
