"Labour must remain a socialist party in order to create a better society for all." Simon Parker - Communications Officer - Moorland Branch Chair - Media Team
I am from a Labour family. My parents met in the 1940s at a Labour Party League of Youth rally, my dad was a party agent and worked for a number of MPs, and my grandmother was a Labour Lord Mayor. My views about equality, a fairer society, social justice, and peace were formed in that environment. I first joined Labour in the 1970s, in my teens, but drifted away after a while, preferring to work with a number of groups campaigning on single issues. I returned to Labour when Labour returned to socialism. I believe Labour, at its heart, must remain a socialist party in order to create a better society for all.
